Eric: I wonder if he and his kin would be offended to learn that his name is We Evil? But it seems to suit very well. I get the impression he is only a few mm long, judging by the size of the leaf. Is this a multi-image merge picture? His feet and body are sharp but the legs in-between seem less so. Anyway, Very nice to meet you Mr We Evil, tell me, how do you avoid getting stung?
CurlyToes: Thanks Eric. You're right they are quite small, but they are probably getting on for 10mm. This picture is a straight macro (no merging) - that's why the front portion is so out of focus: the usual problems of macro depth of field. If you look in this photo of a similar species, you can clearly see the stingers on the nettle leaf. I think they just walk around them!
